Asst Director – Gail Blackburn

Gail is an entrepreneur who’s background consists of art, graphics, computers, business, and project management. She has an associate’s degree in Drafting Technology, and a bachelor’s degree in Business Management.  She is a native Texan, but after spending the last 25 years in the Phoenix area, she considers herself a naturalized Arizonan.  Gail, and husband Bret, are the average-height parents of a beautiful 13-year old, Britney, who has achondroplasia and hydrocephalus.  The Blackburns are lifetime members of LPA and have been heavily involved in volunteering for the Arizona Chapter of LPA since Britney was 6 months old.

Gail’s husband, Bret, fell off a 2-story roof in December of 2004, sustained his 2nd traumatic brain injury (the 1st was in the Army in 1985), and had to retire. How you react to life’s challenges can make or break you – the Blackburns have chosen to not take life for granted, to appreciate each day to it’s fullest, and to strive to make a positive difference in the world.
